Storytime
Join us for Wednesday Wigglers on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.! Enjoy a Sip And Social for adults with small children from 10 to 10:30 in our Children’s Area with provided coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Geared toward ages 0-4, storytime includes songs, dances, coordination skill-building, stories (of course), and other fun activities. Sometimes we meet out on our south lawn, and sometimes we use our Community Room. Storytimes are the same program at 9:30 and 10:30

Early Literacy
You can practice early literacy skills with your pre-reader at home, too! The Kansas State Library promotes “6 by 6,” or six skills that will promote reading by age six:
- Have Fun with Books
- Notice Print All Around You
- Talk, Talk, Talk
- Look for Letters Everywhere
- Tell Stories About Everything
- Take Time to Rhyme
The Hesston Public Library has plenty of books, DVDs, and even toys and activity kits* to help you and your child practice these skills.
*Ask staff at the desk about borrowing our 6×6 early literacy kits or storypack backpacks.
